ASAP exists to end violence in America as soon as possible by addressing its root causes, including systemic racism, economic injustice, and untreated trauma. We refuse to allow another generation to endure the oppressive systems that perpetuate police violence, community violence, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the prison-industrial complex.

Ending Involuntary Servitude
ASAP played a key role in introducing ACA3/ ACA8/ Proposition 6 to end involuntary servitude in California prisons.

FOUNDER
Jamilia Land is a prominent activist and advocate for criminal justice reform, particularly in California. She has been involved in various efforts to address issues related to wrongful convictions, police violence, and the death penalty. Jamilia is also recognized for her work with families who have lost loved ones to police brutality or have been affected by the criminal justice system.
She is a co-founder of the Anti-Violence, Safety, and Accountability Project (ASAP) and works closely with organizations dedicated to abolishing the death penalty and addressing the injustices faced by incarcerated individuals, especially those wrongfully convicted. Her advocacy often focuses on uplifting the voices of marginalized communities and pushing for systemic changes to end practices such as involuntary servitude in prisons.
